Meet Lorenzo Moya

Lorenzo Moya is a musician who shows great ease to express naturally in different musical worlds.

Grew up in Villanueva de los Infantes (La Mancha, Spain). Lorenzo is a musician with extensive training; Pianist, Composer, Orchestral Conductor, as well as other disciplines, which has shown throughout his career an enormous versatility and great solvency to develop naturally in different musical styles ranging from classical music due to his academic training, to jazz by vocation, through folklore, flamenco or other music.

He has studied these subjects with Masters Fernando Puchol, Camilo Williart, Sánchez Verdú, Mercedes Padilla, Daniel Vega, Ismael Fdez. De la Cuesta, Santiago Calonge, Juan Boronat, Emilio Rey, Valentín Ruiz, Zulema de la Cruz, Gª Nieto and Antón García Abril, Horacio Icasto, Joshua Edelmann, Pepe Rivero, Germán Kucich and Barry Harris.

Piano teacher since 1992, has also a regular activity performing in his own projects and as a member of other camera or orchestral groups. At present he works as full professor in Real Conservatory Superior of Music in Madrid.

Leadership of several recordings as a pianist, he also publishes as author a collection of methods to learn piano, as well as many didactic CDs for Real Musical and Music Sales editions.

1993-1998: Piano teacher, Vice director and Director in Conservatorio E. de Música de La Carolina (Jaen)

1998- 2019: Piano, Repertoire and Computer Music teacher in Conservatorio Profesional “Teresa Berganza”, Madrid.

2019- Full Professor in Real Conservatorio Superior de Música, Madrid.

He has taught classica, jazz music, and computer music courses and clinics.

Performs as soloist and as member of several musical projects, playing different styles such classic, (Orquesta Filarmónica de la Mancha- OFMAN), ancient music, contemporary music, popular jazz and flamenco music. In classical music has played in Spain and Europe.

Chamber music concerts in many groups (Fusax sax 4t, Orquesta Camerata de Madrid, Fundación Sax- Ensemble, Artis Camera dúo, Ensemblanza ensemble, Lux aeternae and Andrómeda choirs and Gospel & Modern music choir UCM).

In 2009 play in National Orchestra of Spain (ONE)  under Josep Pons conducting in a concerts cycle.

Play frequently accompanying soloists like Maristela Gruber, Idoris Duarte, Manuel Blanco, “Concierto Lírico”, etc. in several  diferente opera, zarzuela and other music repertoires.

Has composed works for piano, chamber music, wind band and orchestra. Sometimes has conducted the orchestra in the premiere of his own compositions. Some compositions have been recorded by RNE (Spain National Radio Broadcasting)

Performs in many clubs and in several national and international festivals (Internacional Jazz Festival in Vienne (France) 1996, International Jazz Festival in Jaén 2004 (Jazzandalus Big Band with Philip Michael Mossman), Internacional Jazz Festival in Ciudad Real, Internacional Jazz Festival in Toledo (2004 al 2010).

In all this time has played with musicians like Antonio Serrano, Carlos Carli, Yelsy Heredia, Manuel Machado, Bandolero, Jorge Cerrato, Ramón Gonzalez, Jorge Pérez, Pájaro Juárez, José Sanmartín, Valentín Iturat and artists like Amancio Prada, “Hierba del campo”, Víctor Manuel, Chuma Segura o Pedro Iturralde. Between 2008 and 2014 had a theatres and festivals tour with Soul Tellers.

Today he is presenting his latest album Influencias 

CD “Mais que bossa” with Marambaia jazz quintet. Brazilian popular music classics and some original composition in a jazzy way.

CD “10 canciones populares sobre la Lírica del Quijote y Sancho Panza”: mezzosoprano y piano.

CD. Several recording featurings as pianist/sideman/arranger.

More than 60 didactical CD´s as pianist and arranger for many didactical works in Real Musical /Nueva Carisch/Music Sales editions.
